WIRELESS DEADMAN REFUELING SYSTEM

REPLACES HARD WIRED ELECTRICAL AND
PENUMATIC DEADMAN CABLES AND REELS

BASE Engineering designs and manufactures industrial grade radio remote controls for extreme operating environments. BASE systems can be found in military, petrochemical, aviation, and construction service throughout the world. The company specializes in systems for explosive and hazardous locations and is a supplier to many A&D OEM’s.

Our wireless aviation deadman systems are the result of twenty years experience in jet fuel pumping system design and operation. Our wireless deadman handles offer unrestricted operator movement, reduced maintenance cost, and improved safety over conventional cable and reel units.

BASE’s latest offering to the A&D industry is a spread-spectrum, frequency-hopping aircraft refueling deadman system to replace existing hard wired components. All systems use state of the art encryption technology to ensure an interference free, fail-safe signal.

Optional "Safety Timer" programming available to ensure deadman use. With this option activated, the deadman handle must be momentarily cycled off and on every 30 seconds to prevent automatic shut-down.

BASE Engineering understands the stringent demands and requirements of the refueling industry and our systems provide safe, reliable wireless control. All products come with a standard four-year warranty and lifetime 7/24 customer support.

OPERATIONS
Unrestricted hose-end control of transfer pumps, pressure control valves, hose reel unwind/rewind, engine RPM, electronic meters, and man-lift hoists.

Refueling control options include:

Deadman on/off
Deadman on/off w/30 second timer
PTO on/off
Throttle up/down
Pressure increase/decrease
Hose Reel unwind/rewind
Remote Meter Readout
Lift up/down

Systems are available to control simple one or two function hydrant operations up to twelve fully programmable refueler operations. 120VAC systems are available for fixed cabinet refueling .

Our engineers and technicians regularly design and build custom installation hardware for these or any other remote control application. We offer a comprehensive selection of hardware interface components to simplify conversion of existing operations to radio remote control. These include pre- wired elec/air solenoids, air actuators, electric actuators, elec/hydraulic solenoids, and custom electrical harness wiring.

RELIABILITY
Built for extreme environmental conditions over 25,000 of our wireless controls are in service from Alaska to Australia serving petroleum, construction, military, and commercial aviation needs. Handhelds and receivers are encased in rugged polymer making them impervious to moisture, shock, and vibration. Each and every system
produced is functionally tested to rigid performance criteria prior to being packaged.

A four-year replacement warranty with next day replacement is part of our commitment to product and customer support. Technicians are available 24/7 to answer installation or performance questions.

PERFORMANCE
BASE Engineering’s frequency-hopping, spread-spectrum
“Safe-Link” ensures interference free, high powered radio signals. Microprocessor based ID encryption allows multiple systems to work in close proximity to each other without cross interference. Systems can be specified with up to two miles range if required. Radios are FCC and CE approved for non-licensed use. Deadman handles are low powered intrinsically safe suitable for use in Class 1, Div 2, Group “D” hazardous environments. Optional XP rated receiver enclosures are available on request.

Handhelds are supplied with premium rechargeable “AA” lithium batteries and 12VDC battery or 120VAC charger. Transmitters will operate up to 15 hours continuously
between charging and have a built in “smart charge” circuit to prevent over charging and declining battery memory.

Compact receivers utilize an internal antenna design which allows for easy installation anywhere on the refueling equipment. Internal diagnostics monitor for low battery
condition, Safe-Link connection, and downstream circuit faults. Troubleshooting is made easy through the use of LED indicators in both the handheld and receiver units

APPLICATIONS
Available in 12/24VDC and 120/240VAC versions, systems are used where maintained operator control is critical. Drawing from hundreds of existing designs our in-house RF engineers can provide units for tank trucks, hydrants, stationary cabinets, ship refueling, portable blevey pumps, and loading rack applications.

In the event we don’t already have a solution to your requirements we routinely write new software, design new circuits, and machine new mechanical hardware to
do the job.

Each system is pre-wired and pre-tested at the factory and is supplied ready to work. Systems are easily installed and come with detailed operating instructions and installation schematics. Experienced installers are available 24/7 to assist with technical support.
