System
Overview An automatic leak detection and shut down system designed by
professional engineers specifically for LPG and Anhydrous Ammonia bulk
transfer. Intrinsically safe unit continually monitors the offloading
process for "rate of change" parameters signifying broken
or damaged hoses, fittings and piping. A leak is instantly detected
and stopped by the closure of the tank internal valve(s). The truck's
engine can also be stopped and PTO disengaged if desired. This system
automatically activates at the end of each load. This ensures that the
system is fully operational and helps reduce the possibility of a damaged
cargo pump due to product run out. This unit also "fails safe"
and closes the internal valve with a loss of power or the release of
the trailer parking brakes.
An
optional "Attendance Timer" is available. This query
feature stops the offloading process if the operator fails to
press the "GO" button within a five minute window. A
30 second warning will sound followed by delivery shut down. This
feature helps ensure operator attendance during the loading/offloading
process.

System
Overview
A fully automatic leak detection system for propane and
anhydrous ammonia transports. This system has been designed & tested
by Design Certified Engineers to meet the compliance requirements of
US HM225A and Canadian B620 regulations. The low powered intrinsically
safe control unit continually monitors all piping and hose assemblies
during the offloading or loading process. A failed pipe, or hose separation
will cause the tank's internal valve to close instantly and sound an
audible air-horn alarm. A simple "reset" button returns the
unit to the monitoring state.
The
BASE SafeGuard passive system incorporates
a functional "test" button as a way to determine the unit's
readiness. This sytem is easy to install and requires no calibration,
adjustment, or auxiliary controls. It turns on automatically by opening
the internal valve and turns off when the valve is closed. Drivers do
not have to activate it or monitor it. Options include multi-pipe or
trailer sensors, automatic truck engine or PTO shutdown, and self contained
"Power Pack" for system operation with no truck power supply.
