PROCONTROL 2
PROCONTROL 2 RFID EQUIPPED
RFID Delivery Interlock with Remote Meter Readout

BASE Engineering’s new ProControl 2 system takes radio remote control safety and productivity to the next level. When ordered with the optional RFID tag reader this system will prevent unauthorized deliveries, ensures the right product goes into the right tank, and provides a means to track tank assets on a continuing automatic basis.
SYSTEM FEATURES
Secure Fill feature prevents unintended tank filling
A small RFID tag is affixed to the customer’s storage tank or fill spout. The fuel truck operator
approaches the tank and pushes the “Tank ID” button on his BASE handheld. The ID signal for this specific tank is transmitted back to the truck where it is sent to the trucks electronic metering and inventory system. If the tank ID corresponds to a valid customer delivery then the system automatically opens the trucks product valve. Pushing the “PTO” or “Pump” button on the remote will start the delivery process. If no RFID signal is received the pump will not operate. A manual bypass must be performed and will be recorded as such in the delivery log. Unauthorized or accidental deliveries cannot be made without a deliberate multi-step bypass sequence that is “red-flagged” to operations.
Product Interlock
RFID tags can be programmed to be product specific. The RFID signal is received back to the truck as outlined above but only a specified compartment will open depending on the product assigned to the RFID tag. Prevents accidental delivery of the wrong product.
Fleet Refueling
Inexpensive RFID tags are affixed to each vehicle or piece of equipment. The fuel truck operator reads the ID with a simple button push on the BASE handheld which records the vehicle ID to the delivery ticket. Operator then uses the same remote control to start the pump, increase the flow if needed, monitor the volume of fuel delivered, and shut down the pumping operation in the event of an emergency. Captures exact volume delivered to each piece of equipment without returning to the truck for manual data entry.
Tank Asset Tracking
The hardened plastic RFID tag is permanently affixed to all customer tanks. Tank location is confirmed with each delivery and fed daily to the back office database. A report is generated showing the location of all “active” tanks and the last known location of all “inactive” tanks. Tanks that are exchanged in the field will show the new ID, date, and location of subsequent fills. Tanks that are taken out of service for repair/testing will be logged as such when the new tank ID is assigned. Helps to manage tank inventory and track asset location.
Remote Meter Readout w/Preset
Designed to allow complete control over fuel delivery operations. A handheld LCD display shows the exact meter reading to 1/10th of a unit in real time. Direct serial interface with meter register shows a mirror image volume identical to the truck mounted register. Preset option allows operator to program delivery to exact amount. Handheld remote control unit with backlit LCD display will operate up to 500ft from truck. Kits available for all types of electronic and mechanical registers, including dual metered double pumper trucks – reads in gallons or liters. Includes handheld remote display unit and truck mounted receiver/controller. Ideal for “will call” deliveries and monitoring delivery volume while pumping.
Radio Remote Truck Controls
Operator has simultaneous control of up to eight truck operations in addition to remote meter display described above. Hose Reel remote control allows operator to unwind or rewind delivery hose saving hose wear and tear and possible injury. Tank valves can be opened with automatic “delay” feature to engage PTO/Cargo Pumps. Allows piping to charge and prevents internal valve slugging with one button push. Saves pump wear by engaging pump only when product line is charged and nozzle is connected to tank. Engine RPM can be remotely controlled to increase or decrease pump volume and Emergency Stop feature closes all tank valves and stops truck engine. Available with 5-minute ‘Query’ automatic emergency shut-down feature – complies with all US, Canadian, and international DOT standards for fuel truck remote emergency shut-down. Note: Emergency Stop requires manual system reset at truck – internal valves and pumps cannot be reactivated with the handheld following e-stop. Pressing the e-stop button repeatedly sends the same shut-down signal. Driver can be safely moving away from the truck and be assured of shut-down.
RFID Tag
Low cost RFID tags are passive and require no battery or power connection. The RFID signal is generated by the BASE remote control handheld and transmitted up to 500ft back to the fuel truck mounted controller.
WARRANTY
BASE Engineering products are backed by a 4-year warranty and 24/7 lifetime product technical support. All products are warranted against failure due to workmanship for a period of four years. 1-800 Technical Support is available between the hours of 7am EST (USA) and 5pm EST for the life of the product.
